The teaching material, designed for fifth and sixth grade basketball, was intended for task discovery learning in which children create strategies as part of a team through an independent and interactive learning process and play against the other team. University students (n = 51) enrolled in an elementary schoolteacher training program participated as research subjects and evaluated the effectiveness of the teaching material. The participants played the role of children and evaluated the teaching material from a 20-items in line with the “objectives of physical education” and “content of physical education” set forth in the guidelines. As a result, they determined that the teaching material sufficiently achieved the goal and content of physical education stipulated in the guidelines.
