In study 1, 229 university students from two universities in Chugoku-Shikoku region participated in a questionnaire survey. Factor analysis revealed four factors in the structure of the scale: memorizing, deep processing, practicing, and communicating. In study 2, 91 university students in an educational psychology class with an online participated in a survey and submitted reaction papers from eight online lectures under the restriction by COVID-19. Correlation analysis found a positive relation, but small effect size, between deep processing and the quality of their reaction papers evaluated via expert judgement.
