In this area, the sea level changes at a frequency of 1.4 cph (period about 43 minutes) can be observed. These changes are due to the secondary undulation which has the maximum change at the innermost part of the harbor area. The tsunami due to the Nankai Trough earthquake is predicted to have the periodic component with a period about 66 minutes around the offshore area of Fukuyama Port. This period is close to that of the above secondary undulation. Therefore, the sea-level rise due to the tsunami at the innermost part of the harbor area could be about 1 m higher than that at the offshore of Fukuyama Port.
