Our research team conducted an action research on Japanese language support for preschooler E. She was raised in an inadequate Japanese language environment from infancy, and the foundation of her \"native language\" was not developed in an age-appropriate manner. In order to support the development of Japanese as a \"native language,\" we decided to read picture books to the child once a week in a seminar room at the university. During the three months, we observed the child’s attitude toward picture books and tried to make her like our storytelling time.
