就学前のE児は，「母語」の基礎が年齢相応に育っていない。兄が通った保育所で中国籍の両親に対して家庭でも日本語を話すように助言があり、E児は親の母語を習得することができなかったうえ、一方で、E児の通う幼稚園からは特別な日本語支援を受けないまま，乳幼児期を過ごしてきたためである。保育者側がE児の言語発達の障壁となってしまっており，このままではE児は就学後に教科学習についていけなくなる恐れがある。当研究チームは，多言語・多文化環境で生活する子どもの言語の健全な発達を権利として保障することが喫緊の課題の一つであると認識しており，E児に対して日本語支援のためのアクション・リサーチを行うことにした。具体的には週に一度，大学のゼミ室にて主に絵本の読み聞かせ活動を行った。本稿は，昨年度発表した事例検討②に続くものである。2022年11月から2023年7月までのアクション・リサーチ中のE児の様子と言葉の変化を報告する。 |

Child E, a preschooler, has not developed the foundation of her "native language" in an age-appropriate manner. This is because the teacher at the nursey school her brother attended advised the family to speak Japanese at home, and lost the opportunity to learn the native language of her Chinese parents. On the other hand, the kindergarten the child attends does not provide her with any special Japanese language support. Thus, the child has spent her early childhood falling behind in both languages. If this situation continues, she’ll not be able to keep up with her classmates. Our research team recognizes that children growing up in a multilingual and multicultural environment must be guaranteed the right to receive age-appropriate language development. Specifically, we read picture books to child E once a week at a university seminar room. This paper is a continuation of the case study (2) presented the previous year, and chronicles child E’s condition and the changes in her language during the action research from November 2022 to July 2023. |
