| 内容記述 | 本稿は，唐桑キャンプを事例に，「ボランティア」とワークキャンプとの相違を考察する．またその考察を通じて，社会理論と事例研究の間で「生の技法を分析する」ことの意義を指摘する．分析視角と方法として，A.ストラウスの相互行為論とグラウンデッド・セオリー法を用いた．事例の検討の結果，以下のことが明らかになった． 唐桑キャンプにみるワークキャンプは，NPOや企業の社会的責任などの活動が主流となった「ボランティアの終焉」後の現在においても存続する，「ボランティア」活動である．ただしそれは，偽善や自己満足といった批判を受ける〈贈与のパラドックス〉がむき出しになる官僚制的組織を有する「ボランティア」とは異なり，現地の人びとと参加者が〈つながり〉を形成・展開し，かつ現地の共同体的特質を活用して〈贈与のパラドックス〉に対処する活動である． 本事例研究から浮かび上がるのは，人びとの「生」は事例における相互行為と社会的世界に着目して把握される点であり，人びとの「技法」は事例に表れる複数の社会理論の特殊な結びつきの中で実践される点である．そのため事例研究において「生の技法を分析する」ことの意義とは，事例に特有の諸条件下における人びとの生きられた経験の物語を，類似の主題を抱える他者に理解・応用可能な実践の形式で提示することである． \nThis study considers two aspects of the Karakuwa Camp: the significance of analyzing the art of life through a case study and social theories and the difference between a work camp and volunteer activities. The study applies Anselm Strauss’ interactionism and his grounded theory approach. The work camp observed at Karakuwa Camp is one of the volunteer activities after “the end of volunteerism” in the mainstream Japanese civil society. However, it does not have a bureaucratic organizational structure and the immediate “paradox of donation” that engenders criticisms of hypocrisy or complacency, but it copes with this problem by forming interpersonal ties between work campers and local people as well as utilizing the cultural habits of the local community. The case study reveals that the “lives” of people are well grasped in the empirical world by focusing on interaction and the social world; in addition, the “arts” of people are practiced through the specific connections among social theories. Thus, a possible significance of analyzing the art of life in a case study is to practically present the narratives of the local people’s lived experiences so that others in similar situations can understand or apply the inherent lessons. |
