| 内容記述 | 広島県福山市の「鞆の浦」は，歴史・文化・観光の面で広く国内外に知られている．鞆の浦の対岸に浮かぶ仙酔島は，「鞆公園」（名勝）の一部とともに，「瀬戸内海国立公園」内にある優れた自然の風景地である．そうした風光明媚な仙酔島ではあるが，アジア太平洋戦争時には，砲台が設置されていたという負の歴史あったことが，戦後の手記や聞き取り調査などから僅かに窺い知ることができる．しかしながら，これまでその実態はもちろんのこと，具体的な設置場所についてさえ，明らかでなかった． そこで今回，島内の現地踏査を実施したところ，高射砲台跡，及び関連施設が設置されたと考えられる造成面や痕跡（石積１基・凹地４基）が確認できたことにより，地形測量を行った．また併せて実施した，戦後に島内で在住されていた方からの聞き取り調査からも，測量を実施したエリアに砲台が構築されていたとの貴重な証言を得ることができたことからも，とりあえずは仙酔島における高射砲台跡を特定することができたといえよう．しかし，その一方で不明な点もかなり多く，現状では推定の域を出ないのもまた事実である．今後の考古学的な調査に期待したい． なお，本稿では今回検出された造成面や痕跡を「仙酔島高射砲台跡」と仮称することとする． |

| 内容記述 | Tomonoura in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, is widely known in Japan and abroad for its history, culture and tourism. Sensui-jima Island, just beside Tomonoura, is an excellent natural scenic spot in the Seto Inland Sea National Park. Although Sensui-jima Island is known for its scenic beauty, post-war memoirs and interviews have revealed another kind of history. Recently, it was discovered an anti-aircraft battery was installed there at the end of the Asia-Pacific War. However, until now, the details and specific locations of the installations were not known. A field survey was carried out and confirmed traces of foundational surfaces of several anti- aircraft batteries and their related facilities. Therefore, a complete topographic survey was then conducted on the site. Also, a local person who lived on the island was interviewed and provided valuable information. According to the inhabitant, the batteries were located in the exact area where our survey was carried out. It can be said that the remains of the battery on Sensui-jima Island have been identified for the time being. However, there are still many unknown factors, and more archaeological investigation is needed. In this paper, the built-up surfaces and traces detected are tentatively called "Sensui-jima Island Anti-aircraft Battery Site". |
